How we integrate lighting with false ceilings
False ceilings are only as good as the light plan behind them. Every project starts with a lighting layout — task, ambient, accent — before we cut a single board. We plan recessed downlights, cove strips, profile lights, chandeliers and fan drops so the ceiling reads clean, not busy.
For homes, warm 3000K lighting is our default. For offices we go 4000K neutral. For retail and F&B we design layered scenes — the ceiling can shift from a bright merchandising mode to a moody evening ambience via a single dimmer.

How much does a false ceiling cost in Hyderabad?
A simple perimeter gypsum with cove light costs ₹75-₹120 per sq ft of ceiling area. Full-room designer ceilings range ₹120-₹180 per sq ft. Wooden and multi-level designer ceilings can go to ₹250-₹450 per sq ft.
Which is better — gypsum or POP?
For 95% of projects, gypsum is the right choice — factory-manufactured boards give a consistent finish, install faster and crack less. POP is still relevant for traditional homes with elaborate curved detailing.
Does false ceiling reduce room height too much?
A well-designed cove ceiling drops the perimeter by 6-8 inches but keeps the centre at full height. For office grid ceilings the drop is 4-6 inches. We only recommend full-drop ceilings when there's an actual functional reason (duct/wiring/acoustics).
How long does false ceiling installation take?
A single room takes 3-5 days including framing, boarding, jointing, putty, primer and paint. A full apartment takes 10-15 days depending on complexity.
Will the ceiling crack over time?
Not if it's built properly. We use hot-dip galvanised channels, jointing tape at every board joint, and 2-3 coats of putty. Cracks usually appear in cheap installations that skip the jointing tape.
Can you integrate my existing lights and AC into the ceiling?
Yes. We survey the room, note every light point and AC outlet, and design the ceiling around them. New lights and cutouts are planned in the same drawing.
