The four kitchen layouts you'll see quoted in Hyderabad
- L-shape — most efficient for 8-14 ft runs, fits 90% of 2/3BHK homes
- U-shape — max storage, works when you have 3 usable walls
- Parallel — great for long narrow galleys
- Island — for open-plan living/dining, needs 12×12 ft minimum
Kitchen quotes are per running foot of the counter. A standard 10 ft L-shape runs 10 ft base + 10 ft wall = 20 running ft. Multiply by the per-rft rate for your finish tier to get a ballpark.
What finish tiers actually mean
"Modular kitchen finish" is code for the outer shutter treatment on the plywood core. There are four options in the Hyderabad market:
- Laminate — ₹8,500 – ₹12,000 per rft — durable, matte or gloss, most cost-effective
- Membrane / PVC foil — ₹10,500 – ₹14,500 per rft — one-piece look but delaminates in 3-4 years
- Acrylic — ₹14,500 – ₹19,500 per rft — mirror-like sheen, best-in-class value
- PU (Polyurethane sprayed) — ₹22,000 – ₹32,000 per rft — deepest premium finish, requires factory application
For 2026 our recommendation is: laminate for rentals and budget homes, acrylic for premium 2/3BHK, PU only if you're already committing to Luxury tier for the full home.
Hardware — where quality is silent but critical
The hardware you cannot see (hinges, drawer runners, tandem baskets) is what determines whether your kitchen still opens smoothly a decade later. Never let a studio downgrade this line silently.
- Hettich (India) — the mid-premium default, 10-year warranty, silent close
- Blum (Austria) — premium standard, best-in-class engineering
- Ozone / Ebco — budget-tier, adequate for laminate kitchens under Basic tier
For a standard 10 ft kitchen you'll need ~6 tandem baskets, ~15 hinges and 2-3 corner solutions. Hardware alone runs ₹35,000-₹55,000 in a decent kitchen — don't let a suspiciously low quote skimp here.
Counter materials — five common choices
- Granite — ₹180 – ₹350 per sq ft — durable, budget-friendly, dated look
- Quartz (Indian) — ₹450 – ₹650 per sq ft — best all-round, stain resistant
- Quartz (imported Caesarstone / Silestone) — ₹950 – ₹1,600 per sq ft
- Italian marble — ₹1,200 – ₹2,500 per sq ft — beautiful but stains and etches
- Corian / solid surface — ₹850 – ₹1,400 per sq ft — seamless, easy to repair
